FCCenviro publishes its 2026 Sustainable Finance Report
FCCenviro, as part of its Sustainable Finance Framework updated on 14 February 2023, has published its Sustainable Finance Report 2026, which details the total amount allocated to eligible green projects and the amounts allocated by project category. With the aim of ensuring traceability and transparency in the use of funds, this Framework establishes the obligation to disclose, on an annual basis, information relating to the allocation of net proceeds from the issuance of Green Bonds and Green Credits.
The report provides a detailed breakdown of the allocations made from the outstanding balance of the green bond issued in October 2024, in accordance with the framework and internal taxonomy, and specifies both the total amount allocated to eligible green projects and the distribution by investment category. These allocations comply with the criteria defined by the Green Bond Principles (GBP) of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) and the Green Loan Principles (GLP) of the Loan Market Association (LMA).
No new sustainable financing issues took place during the 2025 financial year. Consequently, this report covers exclusively the allocation of 103.45 million euros corresponding to the outstanding balance (17.3 per cent) of the green bond issued in 2024. With this allocation, the investment associated with that green bond is now fully completed, totalling 600 million euros. Of the investment reported this financial year, 89.95 per cent has been allocated to the category of pollution prevention and control and 10.05 per cent to clean transport.
This report is published against a particularly significant backdrop, as FCCenviro has recently presented its Sustainability Strategy 2026–2030, approved by the Board of Directors, which is structured around five strategic pillars: Climate change and pollution reduction, Resource use and the circular economy, Our workforce, Corporate conduct and Innovation. Key initiatives planned include the gradual replacement of conventional vehicles with cleaner technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicles, and the implementation of waste treatment technologies that reduce reliance on landfill sites.
In line with FCCenviro’s commitment to subject the allocation process to an independent external assessment, the verification body DNV has reviewed the report and issued a positive conclusion regarding compliance with the criteria set out in the Sustainable Finance Framework. The verification includes:
- Validation of the projects’ eligibility,
- the correct management and monitoring of revenue,
- and consistency between the reported allocations and the supporting documentation.
