FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente strengthens its presence in the US with the acquisition of Houston Waste Solutions
FCC Environmental Services, FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente’s American subsidiary that provides comprehensive waste management and recycling services in the United States, has made a new acquisition in the North American market with the purchase of Houston Waste Solutions (HWS), one of the largest commercial solid waste collection companies in the Houston metropolitan area. HWS also owns and operates a transfer station for construction and demolition debris in the city. The company serves more than 3,000 customers (restaurants, hotels, shopping centres, apartment buildings, etc.) with a fleet of 40 trucks and employs 70 people.
With this investment, FCC Environmental Services reinforces its presence in the Houston commercial market as it did last year in the Dallas metropolitan area with the purchase of Premier Waste Services LLC.
The deal represents a steady increase of around $70 million (around €66 million) in the portfolio of the company which thus continues its sustained growth in the US. It now serves more than 10 million Americans in five US states: California, Texas, Florida, Nebraska and Iowa, what makes FCC one of the most important companies in the sector.
