Orange County (Florida, USA) renews its trust in FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente

Orange County (Florida, USA) renews its trust in FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente

Orange County, Florida, has awarded FCC Environmental Services, subsidiary of FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente in the United States, the contract for residential solid waste collection in zones 4 and 5, the maximum number of zones possible. The contract is expected to last seven years and represents an order book value of 170 million dollars (156.9 million euros) and an investment of 32 million dollars (29.45 million euros). This contract represents the renewal of the trust that the County placed in the company in 2016, when it awarded it this service, which was its first residential collection contract in the USA. Same as the first contract, the service will be delivered with collection vehicles powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engines, a technology in which FCC is a pioneer in the USA and which highlights the concern of the county and the company for sustainability and a cleaner urban environment.

The contract, which will begin on 1st January 2026, will serve around 77,000 residential units, involves 100 local jobs and will have 75 lorries and auxiliary vehicles and the corresponding CNG refuelling station.

Dan Brazil, CEO of FCC Environmental Services, said: “This renewal reaffirms our commitment to excellence and the trust that Orange County has placed in us. We are proud to continue serving the community and expanding our impact in Florida, ensuring reliable and sustainable waste collection services for residents.”

This award strengthens FCC Environmental Services' presence in Florida, a state with over 22 million inhabitants and one of the largest waste producers in the country. The renewal is a testimony to the company's exceptional performance, reliability and commitment to providing high-quality waste collection services.

FCC Environmental Services is an industry leader in end-to-end waste management and recycling in the United States and serves more than 12 million people with a fleet of 1,000 vehicles and a workforce of 2,000 people. The company performs its activities today in seven states: California, Texas, Florida, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and North Carolina.

FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente is the company within the FCC Group that has been providing municipal services and comprehensive waste management for more than 120 years, and currently serves over 78 million people in 5,650 municipalities around the world.
