Sarasota County (Florida) entrusts FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente with new $750 million contract

Sarasota County (Florida) entrusts FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente with new $750 million contract

Sarasota County Board of Commissioners has awarded FCC Environmental Services, subsidiary of FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente in the United States, the new contract for the collection of municipal solid waste in the South District of the county for a total of up to $750 million (€688.7 million). The contract will initially last for seven years and can be extended for seven years in the first extension and six years in the second extension and will commence on March 31, 2025.

To develop this important contract, which will employ 90 people and serve nearly 250,000 residents and 2,000 commercial customers, FCC Environmental Services will invest more than $45 million (€41.3 million) in the construction of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) supply station for the new fleet, which incorporates 65 CNG trucks and 10 ancillary vehicles.

In his statement, Iñigo Sanz, CEO of FCC Environmental Services, expressed his gratitude to the county for the trust placed in the company, his excitement about providing high-quality service to residents and added that FCC looks forward to a long partnership with the county.
