Water and Waste Management
According to forecasts, climate change will have a negative impact on water, causing a reduction in water resources and an increase in extreme phenomena such as floods and droughts. The extent of this impact will largely depend on how we use this resource.
Within the framework of the SDGs and given that water is a key factor for the performing of our activity, one of the goals prioritised by FCC Environment is Goal No. 12 RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION, which encompasses WATER.
Our organisation is making every effort to adapt to the consequences derived from climate change and to mitigate, as far as possible, its adverse effects. Therefore, favouring rational and efficient consumption of this resource and encouraging the use of water from alternative sources has become a priority for our organisation
At FCC Environment, priority is given to water-economising technologies and equipment in the provision of services, mainly irrigating parks and gardens and washing streets, and we promote water-saving devices at our facilities.
Promotion of automatic irrigation

Implementation of irrigation control systems in enclosed parks

Implementation of remote-managed irrigation
Incorporation of high-pressure, low-flow pumping systems in street flushers
Installation of adjustable nozzles with programmable automaton in the flushers
FCC Environment is committed to optimising the recovery and recycling of waste by increasing efficiency in the recovery of reusable materials at biological treatment plants and stabilising the performance of packaging classification plants, which has allowed us to reduce the tipping of rejected material in landfills.
The company also offers the implementation of training in responsible environmental management aimed at operational teams, which will allow us to mitigate the environmental impact of the services provided in the communities where we operate.
